Description

Packing a lot of utility into a compact, lightweight package, this two-headed tool is well made and designed for rigorous use.

Ideal for camping or keeping in a vehicle, it has a rust-resistant stainless-steel shovel head that is large enough for moving material efficiently and has a spear point to ease digging in hard-packed soil or snow. One side of the shovel head is bevelled for chopping and has a cut-out for use as a bottle opener; the other side is serrated to help cut through roots or sod and incorporates a bevelled cutting hook. The folding pick head has a pointed tip and integral nail puller.

The shovel and pick can each be set in line with the handle or locked at 90° for quickly trenching around tents or campfires, or for use as a tamp. A single threaded collar securely locks the handle and blade or pick in position – there are no wobbly joints. With an open D-style grip large enough to allow use with gloves or mitts, the aluminum handle has a bifold design for compact storage.

Measuring about 19" end to end when open, the tool folds to approximately 9" × 5" × 2" so it can be stowed almost anywhere. Weighs just under 2 lb and comes with a belt-looped nylon pouch. A real workhorse.
