Q: How does this product keep slugs and snails away?
The copper blocker is a pure copper mesh that snails and slugs tend to avoid on contact, so placing it around beds or containers creates a barrier they're reluctant to cross.

Yes. Since it works as a physical deterrent rather than a chemical pesticide, copper mesh is considered a non-toxic option for use around vegetable and fruit crops.
Yes. Beyond deterring slugs and snails, the mesh can be cut to length and packed into cracks, gaps and other small openings to help block birds, rodents and other small animals.
Copper mesh can tarnish and lose some effectiveness as it oxidizes, so many gardeners clean or replace it periodically to keep the barrier fully conductive.
One roll measures 5" wide by 29 1/2 feet long, which is enough to edge several raised beds or wrap several containers.
