Designed to gently warm soil, these mats maintain temperatures 5° to 11°C (9° to 20°F) above ambient to hasten seed germination and encourage healthy root development in seedlings and cuttings. By warming the soil from below, the mats create consistent conditions seeds need to germinate evenly, even in cool rooms.
They’re effective with any non-insulated containers (avoid Styrofoam or expanded polystyrene, which are poor heat conductors). To maintain performance, store them rolled, not folded.
Available in three sizes. The 10" × 20 3/4" small mat can accommodate a single standard 10" × 20" seed tray. The medium mat measures 20" × 20 3/4" and can hold up two trays; at 48" × 20 3/4", the large can hold up to four seed trays.
