Wheatgrass Organic Sprouting Seeds

Yes, these wheatgrass seeds are organic and non-GMO, prepared by West Coast Seeds and tested by an independent laboratory to meet or exceed Canadian seed standards for germination.

Not much biologically – wheatgrass and common wheat come from the same plant species, but wheatgrass refers to the young, unripe grass harvested for juicing or as pet grass, while wheat seed is left to mature and produce grain.

Soaking is not required, but many growers soak the seeds for eight to twelve hours to speed up germination and produce a more even stand of grass.

Wheatgrass typically reaches a harvestable height of 4" to 8" within 7 to 10 days of planting, depending on light and temperature.

Not typically, as the seeds are meant to be sprouted into grass, which is then juiced or used as pet grass, rather than eaten whole.
