In the hand tools industry, it seems that there are fewer suppliers of quality products each year, as multi-national marketing firms acquire, absorb and re-tool one manufacturer after another in order to target "big box" store business.
This is not the case with cabinet hardware. While there is some consolidation driven by the dominant firms in the market, there has still been tremendous growth in the selection of designs and the development of new finishes, by both established and new firms. During the four years we've published this hardware catalog, we've added more than 3500 new items (over 850 in this edition alone!), and can continue at this pace for years to come.
We still require your guidance to keep on the right path. Having noted your indifference to high-quality nylon hardware (we now have a "lifetime" supply), we've countered this year with a selection of Tansu-style hardware, an increased range of stainless-steel products, and a slew of period brass pieces. We continue to reproduce unavailable lines, and are now starting to design improved versions of old standards, such as the piano stool hardware on page 181. Many of these items have been added or produced as a result of your requests, and we continue to work on a host of others.
If there's a favorite hardware style we're missing, an application we've overlooked, or a finish we've missed, please let us know. While we can't promise that we'll be successful in filling the lack, you can be assured we'll give it our best shot.
