Description

An efficient way to make the most of limited living space, this kit lets you build a fold-away bed that converts into a desk during waking hours. As the bed is folded down, the desk automatically lowers, remaining level and stable throughout the process; anything on the desktop is concealed under the bed, exactly as you left it.

Dual gas-pistons are used to ensure smooth, controlled movement of the bedframe as it is lifted or lowered. The powder-coated steel bed legs have cushioning end caps to avoid surface marring and fold into the side of the bedframe when not in use.

The kit comes with all the mechanisms and hardware needed. Detailed dimensioned drawings for making the bedframe, desk and free-standing cabinet structure are also included.

The completed project measures 166cm × 229cm (65" × 90") tall. The bedframe projects 214cm (about 84") from the wall when lowered and accommodates a standard queen-size mattress that you supply. The desktop is 63cm × 152cm (about 25" × 60") with a working height of 30" when the bed is raised and 35cm (about 14") of vertical clearance between the surface and the bedframe when the bed is lowered.

A practical, space-efficient furniture-building project.
