00S1242 - Zipbolt Post Fastener
Used to secure newel posts, this all-steel connector easily installs directly into a floor joist. To tighten or loosen the connector, simply adjust the geared mechanism using a Torx driver.
The fastener can be sunk to a depth of about 140mm (5 1/2") into wood and has an overall length of around 275mm (10 3/4"). At one end of the bolt, an anchor seats in a 38mm (1 1/2") diameter by a minimum of 28mm (around 1 1/16") recess.
When tightening or loosening the connector, it should be done by hand or with a drill on low torque setting. Do not use an impact driver.
