Barn-style doors are often a good solution in places where space constraints make hinged doors impractical. Easy to install, these kits use rollers that mount onto the top edge of the door and travel on a top track that surface-mounts on the wall. Each also includes a small floor-mounted guide that keeps the door stable and aligned.
All components are made of forged steel with a black powder-coat finish that gives them a smooth wrought-iron appearance. Supplied with mounting fasteners, each kit works with doors 1 3/8" to 1 3/4" thick with a maximum weight of 250 lb. For ease of handling, the rails are supplied in shorter lengths that lock together end to end with dovetail-shaped connectors to ensure accurate alignment during installation and use.
Kits are available with 6 1/2', 8', 10' or 12' rails. To determine the minimum rail length needed, take the width of the door you intend to use and double it. For untrimmed doorways, the minimum width of a barn door is the width of the opening plus 4"; for doorways with trim moldings or other visible frame casing, the minimum barn door width is the same as the total width measured from the outside edges of the casing.
A sturdy, stylish and space-efficient alternative to conventional door hardware.
Kits are also available with rollers that mount onto the front face of the door. To avoid drilling into tile or other flooring to install the floor guides, we offer a wall-mounted floor guide separately.
