This is among the best modular insert storage cases we've found. Its removable internal bins can be arranged in various configurations and allow easy access to contents; you can simply lift a bin out and tip the contents into your palm.
Grid patterns on the bottom and lid of the case interlock with the bins, so they won't shift during transport even if a few are missing. The transparent top lets you find what you want easily and fits snugly to help prevent contents from mixing when the case is tipped. The lid has recesses that accept the feet of a case of another professional case (large or small) to make stacked cases more stable.
The small heavy-duty professional case is made with a double-walled polystyrene body. Its polycarbonate lid opens from the middle like double doors, secured with two pop-up sliding latches. The latches open and close easily but are spring-loaded to resist accidental opening. The steel-reinforced carrying handle collapses into the case front for compact storage.
The case measures 58mm (2 1/4") tall with 437mm × 335mm (17 3/16" × 13 3/16") outside dimensions.
Seventeen modular bins are included: ten 51mm × 51mm (2" × 2"), five 105mm × 51mm (4 1/8" × 2"), one 105mm × 105mm (4 1/8" × 4 1/8") and one 159mm × 105mm (6 1/4" × 4 1/8"). All are 43mm (1 11/16") deep.
In addition to the modular bins, there are three clear 102mm × 22mm (4" × 7/8") bins with latching lids and a long 292mm × 72mm (11 1/2" × 2 13/16") bin with removable dividers, bringing the total number of containers to 21.
The modular bins are also available separately. Having additional bins lets you quickly swap out the contents of a storage case, so you take only what you need for a job.
