Proper brushes are the heart of any good shoeshine kit. However, well-made ones are increasingly hard to find. That’s why we put together this brush set – all made in the USA with densely packed bundles of natural horsehair set in finished hardwood handles.
The set includes two small brushes (known as daubers) for applying polish and two large polishing brushes for working the polish into the leather and buffing it to the desired finish.
The 6 1/2" dauber has a comfortably shaped handle and a firm, compact bristle end, allowing the tight, precise motions needed for maneuvering into contours. The 6 3/4" polishing brush has the traditional rocker-back shape and finger grooves along the sides for grip – a design that fits the hand well and permits a brisk stroke as you polish.
One set of brushes has dark handles and the other has light handles, so you can have color-coded brushes for dark and light shoes to avoid mixing polish colors. The brushes come in a sturdy USA-made metal box, 7 3/4" × 10 1/2" × 3" deep, with room to add your own preferred polishes and cloths.
