Recognize these geometric drawings? Mathematicians call them hypotrochoids – defined as a path traced by a point attached to a circle rolling around within a larger circle – but we just call them fun!
This set is as enthralling for adults as it is for children; everyone we have shown it to can't resist playing with it. Just insert a pen through any hole in one of the gears, and spin it around within a template, creating a pattern of repeating loops. Using another color in a different hole or in a different gear overlays the first pattern, creating a more complex, dynamic design.
The kit includes two templates, six gears in a variety of colors, plus three pens (red, blue and green). Suitable for ages 4+.
