Description

An introduction to electronics and robotics for budding makers, this kit contains the tools and components needed to assemble a battery-powered car that moves forward when it is switched on and reverses for a few seconds when its microphone sensor detects nearby sounds such as a hand clap.

The detailed instruction manual shows how to identify resistor values, explains soldering techniques used in circuit board assembly and offers troubleshooting tips, providing plenty of opportunities for STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) skill building.

The kit includes a 25W soldering iron with a stand, 5' of 0.031" dia. lead-free solder, wire cutters, safety glasses, a printed circuit board, a car body and wheels. Requires two AA batteries (not included). Suitable for ages 12 and up.
