45K1748 - Paper Airplane Launcher Kit
Part building project, part flight laboratory, this paper airplane launcher kit turns a simple afternoon activity into an engaging exploration of aerodynamics. Once assembled, it can send planes soaring from 3m to 15m (10' to 50'), letting you see how materials, shapes and design choices affect distance, flight path and performance.
Made from 5mm-thick die-cut plywood, the launcher works with all kinds of plane configuations made from paper, straws, Styrofoam, cardboard or balsa wood – including our balsa glider. Follow the supplied designs or invent your own, then experiment to create planes for long-distance or return flights, or tricks such as a loop-the-loop.
The comprehensive 20-page manual includes detailed assembly instructions, several plane designs and an accessible introduction to flight and aerodynamics. The launcher is easy to assemble and takes about half an hour to build, requiring only glue (not included). Paper for six planes is supplied.
A fun gift for curious kids, families and aspiring engineers, it combines hands-on building, creative play and real scientific discovery, with plenty of opportunities to keep experimenting long after it is assembled.
Suitable for indoor or outdoor use. Adult supervision is recommended for children under 14.
