If you want to reduce your use of plastic wrap and bags, beeswax wraps are a great way to cover and protect food. Beeswax has natural antimicrobial properties, and when combined with cloth, it helps retain the moisture of food while still allowing it to breathe, so condensation is less likely to collect inside.
This kit provides all the materials you need to create a set of beeswax wraps. The beeswax pucks provided in the kit are pre-mixed with jojoba oil and resin to create wraps that stay flexible at room temperature and have enough tack to cling to containers and themselves. The ingredients are all safe for food contact, and the wraps can be wiped clean or hand washed in cold water between uses. Extra wax is provided so you can refresh the wraps when needed, allowing up to a year and a half of use with proper care.
Kit includes five pieces of 100% cotton (two measuring 7" × 7" and three measuring 10" × 10"), three wax pucks (totalling about 180g), a stir stick and a brush for applying the wax. Instructions for making and caring for the wraps are included. Color and pattern of fabric may vary.
