Here's a time-saving tool that lets you separate fresh pineapple from its prickly rind. It produces a convenient fruit coil that can be cut into rings or smaller pieces.
A ratcheting mechanism in the non-slip handle lets you turn the shaft without repositioning your hand with each twist.
Two cutting edges at its base slice the fruit as it cores. The handle detaches easily so the fruit spiral can slide off the shaft, and the juice is reserved in the rind for later use. Dishwasher safe, the tool is about 10" long overall. With a little practice, you can have ready-to-serve fresh pineapple in almost the same amount of time it takes to open a can.
