60K1108 - DIY Belt Knife Kit
BeaverCraft is a small manufacturer that has been producing well-made yet inexpensive carving tools in Kyiv, Ukraine, since 2014. Despite the enormous challenges they face operating in a war zone, they continue to build both their product line and their reputation among woodcarvers.
This project kit supplies the key components needed to make your own drop-point belt knife. The included full-tang blade is forged from 1066 high-carbon steel hardened to Rc58-60 for good edge retention. It comes sharpened to a keen hollow-ground edge and treated with a distinctive gun-blue finish to protect the blade from tarnish. The kit includes a belt sheath made of chrome-tanned leather, as well as a pair of rivets for mounting handle scales that you make from the wood of your choice (not included).
The finished knife measures approximately 8" long overall with a 3 1/2" blade. Whether for yourself or given as a gift, it is a relatively straightforward project, creating a one-of-a-kind knife that’s both practical and attractive.
