Both of these accessories make using a tape measure easier – particularly when you’re working on your own.
Tape Tip
Tape measures are often used to check for square on carcasses, frames or stud walls. The tape tip solves two common challenges: it makes it a snap to measure from an inside corner using the 1" long pointed extension end, and the right-angled foot on the underside holds securely when measuring using an outside corner. Made from ABS, the tip has two rare-earth magnets for a reliable hold on the tape. It also allows a tape measure to be used as a marking gauge or as a compass and is a handy aid when measuring longer distances – you simply hook the center hole over a nail to hold the tip in place.
Tape Measure Stands
There are times when it’s nice to use a tape as you would a long rule: locking the blade in place and setting the case upright on a surface. The challenge is keeping it standing while you work. Just clip your tape onto a tape stand to provide a wide, stable base.
There are two sizes in the set: the 1 3/8" version is for smaller tapes and accepts cases up to 1" thick; the 1 1/2" stand fits larger tapes and fits cases up to 1 3/4" thick.
