This micro-adjust rod for Veritas wheel marking gauge upgrades a standard wheel marking gauge with a fine-adjustment mechanism you can dial in precisely instead of resetting the fence by feel.
Loosen the fine lock knob and retract the cutter, then remove the screw and cutter and turn the micro-adjust to fully project the shaft. Remove the original rod, install the new rod in the gauge body, and lock the body in position. Reinstall the cutter and screw while holding the micro-adjust steady, then loosen it slightly afterward to release any thread bind from tightening.
Yes, but only one of the gauge's two rods can be upgraded with this micro-adjust rod; the other rod stays as-is, per the included instruction sheet.
It fits any marking gauge body with a 5/16" bore, not just the Veritas standard wheel marking gauge it's designed to upgrade.
