About Veritas seconds: this stock of our #5 1/4W bench plane (05P2471) has some minor cosmetic flaw – a scratch, a pit in the casting or tiny blemishes – but the plane is functionally perfect. Quantities of seconds are limited and expected to sell out quickly.
Also called a junior jack, the #5 1/4W serves as a jointer for most cabinet work. The extra length of sole in front of its blade makes it much easier to cut accurately by making it easier to keep the nose flush to the material at the start of a cut.
