About Veritas seconds: this stock of our large shoulder plane (05P4371) has some minor cosmetic flaw – a scratch, a pit in the casting or tiny blemishes – but the plane is functionally perfect. Quantities of seconds are limited and expected to sell out quickly.
The size and mass of this specialized rabbet plane makes it perfect for trimming tenons and shoulders or paring down tenon cheeks. To ensure a solid, comfortable grip, it has a lever cap that fits properly in the palm, a hardwood lever cap knob that pivots 180°, and a multi-positional front knob that can be mounted on the top or on either side.
