Description

The German firm NWS (Nöthen Werkzeuge Solingen) makes tools that are widely recognized in Europe for exceptional quality, innovation and performance.

The performance of these side-cutters is impressive. With induction-hardened jaws, precisely ground double-bevelled cutting edges and comfortable molded handles, they make light work of cutting tough materials.

In our tests, the cutting edges showed no significant wear even after hundreds of cuts through hardened steel.

The 1" long jaws can make precise cuts nearly flush (within 1/16") to a surface, and their bevelled profile can be used to apply leverage when prying nails.

The single-hinge regular version is 9 3/4" overall; the long handles permit good leverage to cut cable or fasteners up to 3mm (approx.1/8") in diameter and hardened wire up to 2mm (approx. 5/64").

The 8 1/4" long high-leverage model has a dual hinge that uses the mechanical advantage of a compound lever to amplify applied force. It cuts fasteners up to 4.5mm (approx. 3/16") and hardened wire or chain links up to 3.5mm (approx. 9/64").

Both styles have broad three-component grips that create a balance of cushioning for comfort, texture for control and rigidity for support.

Intended for use by electricians, these tools are certified to comply with the North American, European, and international standards for 1000VAC/1500VDC insulated tools and are marked accordingly with the "double triangle" symbol of ASTM F1505, VDE, and the "1000V" designation of IEC 60900.
