Set of 3 Veritas Dovetail & Crosscut Saws

Our dovetail and crosscut saws are an innovative blend of tradition and technology, incorporating the critical characteristics of a classic fine joinery saw but made using modern production processes and state-of-the-art materials. Save $48 when you buy them as a set of three.

The blades of the dovetail saws have 14 or 20 rip-cut teeth per inch. The 14 tpi model is most efficient on stock thicker than 1/2"; the less aggressive cut of the 20 tpi version is best for stock under 1/2" thick. The teeth, set 0.003" per side, have a rake angle of 14° and an included angle of 60°.

Used for cutting across or perpendicular to the grain, the 16 tpi crosscut saw blade has teeth filed with alternating bevel angles so it severs rather than tears wood fibers; it tracks better and leaves a smoother finish than a rip-cut blade. The teeth are filed with 15° rake and bevel angles and have 0.003" of set per side.

Each saw has a spine molded from an advanced material incorporating stainless-steel powder for weight, glass fiber for stiffness, and a polymer resin binder. An over-molded blade and stainless-steel handle-mounting bolt creates a solid blade/spine/mount assembly. A single brass fastener secures the hardwood handle. Made of high-carbon steel, the blade of each is 9 1/4" long and 0.020" thick, with a cut depth of about 1 9/16".

Comfortable and well balanced, each saw measures 14 1/4" long overall.
