Until February 14, 2026, we’re offering these saw guides at $10 off our regular prices.
A licensed modification (by British master craftsman David Barron) of the Veritas patent, these guides make quick work of achieving accurate, consistent dovetail joints. Made from anodized aluminum, each guide features recessed rare-earth magnets covered by a low-friction coating to ensure that the saw blade stays securely aligned during cuts. Using the guides with a quality Japanese dozuki saw, woodworkers can easily make dovetails ready for fitting right off the saw, without the need for trimming the tails or pins.
Where the guides contact the workpiece, a replaceable high-friction layer keeps the guide firmly in place. This reliable hold eliminates the need for clamps, allowing the guide to be quickly repositioned from cut to cut.
With five standard dovetail angles – 1:4, 1:5, 1:6, 1:7 and 1:8 – the range of guides provides options depending on the desired strength of mechanical lock and visual preference.
Commonly used for softwoods due to the stronger mechanical lock, a 1:4 ratio produces a narrow-looking joint that highlights contrast between the pins and tails. While a 1:8 ratio yields a more traditional profile with subtle visual appeal, it is generally used for hardwoods that do not require as firm a mechanical lock.
To complement the dovetail guides, we also offer 45° and 90° saw guides separately.
All are perfect for the craftsperson who relies on hand tools or works in small spaces.
