Description

Though typically used for metalworking, a collet chuck is also well suited to woodturning applications.

Valued for its ability to accurately grip small hardwood blanks without marring surfaces, it also allows stock to be removed and remounted with repeatable concentricity — a factor important for sanding and finishing a workpiece. Each collet has about a 1/32" range of motion.

Usable with or without tailstock support, the machined steel chuck mounts on your lathe spindle and includes two wrenches for securing/removing the nose nut. The chuck is also useful for holding mandrels, small custom face plates, and metal turning blanks.

Available for spindle sizes 1"-8, 1 1/4"-8, 33mm and 1 1/2"-8. Each set contains a chock, nose nut, five collets (1/4", 3/8", 1/2", 5/8" and 3/4") and a pair of hook wrenches.

This is a well-made tool suitable for mid- to large-size lathes.

Replacement collets available separately.
