Used with an angle grinder and offered in fine, medium and coarse, these carving dish wheels are covered with hundreds of extremely sharp carbide teeth that remove stock quickly and stay sharp through extended use.
The medium and coarse wheels use an aggressive coating for fast stock removal, though the teeth leave a surprisingly smooth surface and resist loading due to their consistent height and spacing.
They are well suited for shaping large carvings, chair seats and other applications for which you would normally use a large gouge.
The fine wheel is made with a less aggressive coating, which cuts slightly slower but leaves a finer scratch pattern, making it ideal for smoothing and surface prep.
Shaped like a half donut (or, more formally, a half torus), they are especially good for inside curves and concave areas; their versatility makes them a good choice for beginners.
Each measures 4 1/2" in diameter with a 7/8" bore. Maximum 15,000 rpm.

If you're roughing out a shape, start with medium or coarse and move to fine as you refine it.
Its half-torus, or half-donut, profile is suited to concave curves and tight radii, like chair seats, bowl interiors or other rounded carving work that a flat disc can't reach into as easily.
It's rated for a maximum of 15,000 rpm, which covers the speed range of most angle grinders it's designed to be used with.
