The advantage of the MagSwitch featherboard is that it does not mount in a miter slot. On a table saw, this allows you to use it with wide stock, but it also means it can be used on machines that have no miter slot, enhancing their safety.
It uses two patented magnetic clamps (with a combined breakaway strength of 210 lb) to mount on any equipment with a ferrous table. Each clamp contains two powerful rare-earth magnets. In the "on" position, the magnets align, instantly affixing it to the machine top. With the turn of a knob, the magnets counteract each other for easy removal or repositioning.
