These tools and accessories function together as an integrated mobile work station for practically dust-free sanding.
Designed to minimize noise and vibration, the included DEROS electric sander has a 6" diameter platen and aggressive 5mm orbit pattern, permitting rapid sanding of large surfaces while yielding consistent finishes in a range of applications.
To reduce clean-up time, avoid health risks associated with airborne dust, and eliminate stray abrasive particles to ensure better surface finishes and longer abrasive life, it connects with a 13' hose to the Mirka 1230 HEPA PC or the Mirka 1230 HEPA AFC (Automatic Filter Cleaning) dust collector.
The PC model has a Push and Clean cleaning system, whereas the AFC has an automatic self-cleaning cycle – a particular advantage when using an aggressive sander for heavy stock removal, as it lets you keep working for longer periods without having to clear loaded vacuum filters manually.
Each kit also comes with two ergonomic hand-sanding blocks (2 3/4" × 5" and 2 3/4" × 8") for precise work along edges or in tight spots. Like the electric sander, each lets you extract dust right at the source, with a pattern of holes in the platen to draw dust from across the entire sanding disc, and a rear port for connection to an included 12' vacuum hose.
To make the hose and power cord easier to manage, they can be bundled together in an included sleeve made of a soft but durable anti-static material that resists picking up dust and debris to help protect surfaces from scratches.
Each kit also comes with a Systainer case, along with hardware for mounting it directly to the top of the vacuum for protected onboard storage of the sander and discs.
For additional onboard storage, each kit includes a steel rack that also mounts onto the vacuum, with shelves for accessories, as well as various hooks for hanging the sander within easy reach and keeping hoses and cords organized while you work.
Each kit also comes with a Y-shaped hose fitting that allows you to connect a second sander to the vacuum and a tubular steel handle so you can push the rolling vacuum from a comfortable height.
