These tools and accessories function together as an integrated mobile work station for practically dust-free sanding.
Designed to minimize noise and vibration, the included PROS pneumatic sander has a 6" diameter platen and aggressive 5mm orbit pattern, permitting rapid sanding of large surfaces while yielding consistent finishes in a range of applications.
It also minimizes dust, with a pattern of holes in the platen to draw dust from across the entire sanding disc, and a rear port for connection to the included Mirka 1230 HEPA PC or the Mirka 1230 HEPA AFC (Automatic Filter Cleaning) dust collector.
By extracting dust right at the source, it reduces clean-up time, helps avoid health risks associated with airborne dust, and eliminates stray abrasive particles to ensure better surface finishes and longer abrasive life.
The PC model has a Push and Clean cleaning system, whereas the AFC features an automatic self-cleaning cycle – a particular advantage when using an aggressive sander for heavy stock removal, as it lets you keep working for longer periods without having to clear loaded vacuum filters manually.
A supplied platen adapter lets you use both 5" and 6" diameter Mirka abrasive discs with the same sander.
Each kit comes with a dual hose assembly that encloses the pneumatic air-supply line within the vacuum hose for most of its length, keeping them tangle-free and easy to manage. Its 18' length gives you ample range to move around as you work.
They also come with an accessory control box that allows the pneumatic sander to work with the vacuum’s AutoStart mode, which activates the vacuum only while the tool is running and turns it off a few seconds after the sander stops to ensure the hose is cleared. You can also run the vacuum independently by switching it to manual mode.
All components fit in an included trolley that rolls smoothly on two fixed wheels and two locking swivel casters. Made of steel with a durable powder-coat finish, it has a fixed lower shelf for the vacuum and a height-adjustable top shelf.
Various hooks and brackets help keep cords and hoses organized while you work, and a fabric strip holds hook-and-loop-backed Mirka sanding pads or discs.
