A track saw is a plunge-cutting circular saw that rides along a guide rail, giving a straighter, cleaner cut than a freehand circular saw.
Clamp the guide rail along your cutline, set the plunge depth, and push the saw along the rail in one steady pass rather than freehanding the cut.
Its slip clutch helps reduce kickback risk if the blade binds, and the riving knife keeps the kerf from pinching the blade during the cut.
A standard circular saw can follow a straightedge clamped to the work, but it lacks the zero-clearance splinter guard and riving knife that keep the Festool TS 75's cut this clean and this safe from kickback.
It cuts up to 75mm (2 15/16") deep at 90° and 55mm (2 1/8") at a 45° bevel.
