It can be hard to know where to begin with sharpening – that’s why we’ve put together these sets. They pair the Veritas side-clamping honing guide with a standard or large King combination stone, making for a self-contained, portable kit.
Simple to use and easy to set up, the honing guide lets you sharpen quickly and consistently. With a wide clamping range (1/8" to 2 1/2"), it accommodates most chisels and plane blades. The unique three-point jaw design ensures registration on the same side of a blade for repeatability.
The 1000x (16µ)/4000x (4.5µ) King combination stones provide two key capabilities for sharpening, grinding and honing. They require only a quick soak before use. The standard stone is 8" × 2" × 1", and the large is 8 1/4" × 2 3/4" × 2".
The honing guide is made in Canada, the stones in Japan.
Each set is an excellent choice for getting started and a solid foundation for a complete sharpening system.
