Odieās Everlasting Dark Oil is an oil and wax blend for interior or exterior use, producing a finish similar to Danish oil but with a higher sheen. It contains natural reactive and oxidizing oils that darken over time, producing a rich patina.
Food safe, the oil is free of petroleum-derived solvents and non-toxic, containing no added driers, heavy metals or part 2 catalyst. Application is straightforward ā apply sparingly with a spreader, non-abrasive pad or cloth, allow approximately 10 minutes for it to soak in, then wipe off the excess. Two to three coats recommended.
This is a high-yield oil, providing coverage of approximately 20 sq.ft. per oz on typical domestic hardwoods or 14 sq.ft. per oz on softwoods, depending on the porosity. It dries to the touch in about 24 hours (depending on conditions), but it is recommended to wait 3 to 5 days for it to fully cure before contact with food or liquid.
For extra protection, Odieās Wood Butter or Odieās Wax (available separately) can be added over top of the oil.
