88K7918 - Purple Dyed Stabilized Maple Burl Blank
Similar to a dense exotic hardwood to drill and turn, this resin-impregnated blank combines the beauty and bold figuring of maple burl with the stability and consistent texture of plastic.
Obtain a semi-gloss finish by sanding with fine paper (400x) and buffing with a polishing compound. Apply a shellac-based friction polish for additional depth and richer color. A special dyeing process ensures consistent color throughout.
Due to natural variations in burled wood, some blanks may have small bark inclusions or other minor defects. Nominal measurements are 3/4" square by 5" in length.
