Pinpoint mode
Highly effective for locating metal behind walls or concealed in lumber or other non-metallic materials, this scanner signals ferrous objects up to 4" deep and non-ferrous material up to 2" deep with a high-pitched tone/LED combination alarm.
It has two scanning modes: wide-area and pinpoint. Wide-area scanning detects concealed metal that could cause costly damage to hand and power tools – a consideration for anyone working with thick slabs or salvaged lumber – and can also locate metal pipe behind walls or studs in lath-and-plaster construction. Using pinpoint mode, you can refine the scan to home in on nails, screws or other small targets.
