Carve a Canoe Paddle

In this session, you will carve a customized black cherry canoe paddle, from wood preparation, shaping and carving to sanding and final finishing. You will take home a completed paddle, suitable for either traversing the water or mounting above the fireplace. Please give your height when purchasing your ticket. All tools and materials supplied.

Instructor Bio

Roger Foster, owner of Carlisle Canoe Company, has been instructing wooden canoe building and paddle carving since the 1990s. He has helped individuals, couples and classes build beautiful watercraft at his workshop in the woods north of Burlington.

Registration Requirements

Seating is Limited. Please register early to avoid disappointment. Unless otherwise stated, previous experience is not required to participate in seminars and attendees should be 16 years old or older. Seminar tickets are not available online.

All tools and materials will be supplied.

Food & Drink

Beverages are provided at our seminars and a light sandwich lunch is provided at all-day events. Please discuss any special dietary needs with the staff at time of registration. In an effort to reduce waste, we encourage you to bring in your own coffee mug and/or refillable water bottle.

What to Wear

We require that you wear closed shoes (e.g. running shoes) to all seminars.
