Refining the Edge

For routine sharpening, the standard diamond and honing discs yield an excellent working edge. Optional Quick Lock discs let you adapt the process to the condition of the knife or refine the result further.

The coarse diamond disc removes material quickly when correcting a slightly damaged edge or changing the bevel angle. The fine and extra-fine corundum discs progressively smooth the grinding pattern. Following them with the Kagami ultra-fine disc produces the most highly polished edge available with the HORL system. A firm leather strop provides the final step, removing the residual burr and sharpening debris without requiring honing compound.

A dock keeps the sharpener and angle support readily accessible, while the fitted wooden box provides secure storage for a sharpener and a selection of accessories. A 3.5X magnifier permits close inspection of the bevel and cutting edge.
