Hydroponics is a method of growing plants without soil, using water and dissolved nutrients. This compact system comes with everything you need for growing leafy greens, herbs and small fruiting plants indoors.
Measuring about 37 1/2" long by 9 3/4" wide by 11 1/2" tall, the tank holds 20 litres (5.3 U.S. gal.) of water. It accommodates up to 20 plants and comes apart easily for routine cleaning.
A 35W LED grow light provides 1920 lumens of full-spectrum light at a color temperature of 6400 kelvin, closely matching natural sunlight, with two lighting modes for vegetative growth or flowering. The timer allows lighting cycles of 8, 12 or 16 hours, depending on plant requirements or time of year.
A 3W water pump circulates water continuously through the system to support root development. The pump can also drain the water out for routine maintenance and cleaning. A water-level indicator shows when refilling is needed, and an included funnel reduces spills during refilling.
The system comes with 22 grow baskets (two extras), 44 rockwool cubes (24 extras) for use as a growing medium, and a fully illustrated user manual.
While fertilizer is included, the system is designed to work with a range of seeds, fertilizers and growing media, allowing gardeners to use their own preferred products.
