Q: Does the flame stay lit while walking?
Yes, the hinged-partition design with an integrated chimney lets the candle burn steadily even when you're walking with the lantern lit.
45K1637 - The “Stonebridge” Automatic Folding Lantern

Special buy. Limited stock.
This collapsible lantern is a reproduction of an antique original that was used by American servicemen during the First World War. Patented in 1900 by Charles Stonebridge, it was the first candle lantern to feature a hinged-partition design with an integrated chimney and candle socket.
Made largely from brass with polycarbonate panels, the lantern has air intake holes along the bottom of the front and side panels, and a large chimney vent in the peaked roof. Even if you are walking with the lantern, the candle will burn without flickering. A hole in the rear of the unit allows the lantern to be hung on a nail.
Measures 6 1/4" × 4 1/2" × 3/4" when closed and stands about 8 1/2" high with a 4 1/2" square base when open. An excellent lantern for campers, it requires little space and weighs just 12 oz. Best used with dripless candles (not included).

It's designed for dripless candles, which aren't included, since dripping wax can build up inside the brass and polycarbonate housing.
This folding lantern folds flat to about 3/4" thick, and a hole at the rear lets you hang it from a nail between uses.
This design was patented in 1900 by Charles Stonebridge and used by American servicemen during the First World War; this version is a faithful reproduction of that original.
When open, the lantern stands about 8 1/2" tall on a 4 1/2" × 4 1/2" base, giving the candle flame a stable footprint.
