About Veritas seconds: this stock of our standard block plane (05P2281) has some minor cosmetic flaw – a scratch, a pit in the casting or tiny blemishes – but the plane is functionally perfect. Quantities of seconds are limited and expected to sell out quickly.
Our standard block plane stands apart from the rest, with tall side wings ideal for shooting, finger grips to improve control, and the most sensitive, accurate combined blade advance and lateral adjustment mechanism available. Preferred for general-purpose work, its 20° bed angle plus the blade’s 25° bevel angle result in an effective cutting angle of 45° (as found in most bench planes).
