Item 05K2031, Burnisher/Scraper Set
  • Two Curved Scrapers: The set includes a rectangular scraper with convex/concave ends for bowl work and spindles, and a shmoo-shaped scraper suited to concave surfaces and large moldings – both in 0.6mm super-hard steel.
  • Carbide Burnisher Included: The 1/8" polished carbide rod burnisher is included to sharpen both scrapers; the carbide surface will not nick or groove under repeated use.
  • One-Handed Burnishing Technique: Burnish using a paring-knife action – thumb on the scraper and four fingers drawing the burnisher along the edge – a method suited to the curved profiles in this set.
  • 25% Saving: Purchasing scrapers and burnisher together costs 25% less than buying the three items individually.
  • 0.6mm Thickness: Both scrapers are the 0.6mm (0.024") thickness suited to general scraping tasks and moderate stock removal.

This set contains two super-hard, 0.6mm thick curved scrapers plus our carbide burnisher at a saving of 25%.

The rectangular scraper with convex/concave ends is excellent for bowl work or for scraping spindles. The curved scraper is useful for concave surfaces, large moldings and small spindles. Use the carbide burnisher to sharpen the scrapers (use a sort of paring-knife action to roll an edge – your thumb on the scraper and four fingers drawing the burnisher along). The 1/8" diameter polished carbide rod projects 3/4" from the hardwood handle, ideal for one-handed use.
