These rubbing pads, manufactured by 3M, are made of non-woven polyester fiber with a coating of grit that is held to the fibers by resin. The grit is distributed throughout the pads, making them a long-lasting, versatile and economical type of abrasive.
Grits range from medium to superfine (which contains no abrasive at all). The pads are 6" × 9", except for the superfine pad, which is sold by the foot (1" thick by 4" wide).
A sample set containing one of each type of pad is also available.
