A durable all-around abrasive available in a wide range of grits, Mirka Gold is highly resistant to loading, shedding and wear. The semi-open-coat aluminum oxide abrasive is bonded to a tough paper backing with a resilient adhesive that helps retain the abrasive particles, and a stearate coating inhibits abraded material from clogging the surface, so one sheet goes a long way.
Suitable for use on a wide range of materials, including wood, non-ferrous metals, fiberglass and painted surfaces, the 3" × 4" grip-backed sheets can be used in woodworking applications for surface preparation as well as sanding between finishing coats.

For general woodworking, 120x to 180x handles most surface prep. These Mirka Gold 3" × 4" grip sheets cover that range and more, from 80x to 400x.
A finer grit around 220x to 320x works well to smooth a surface before painting.
