These gauges were in steady production from 1998 until 2020, but after a 6-year gap, we have finally brought them back. They offer a clever solution to a common problem: while rulers and tapes work well for measuring along surfaces, they are awkward for measuring the space between points.
These gauges taper at a 7:1 ratio of run to rise, so for every unit of rise (height), the wedge extends by seven units of run (length). That means that when you read the scale, the increments are effectively elongated by 7 times, so itās much easier to read the marks accurately.
