Made from 100% sheep wool, these sheets function as a biodegradable mulch that suppresses weeds while helping the soil retain moisture. The dense wool fibers create a protective layer that conserves moisture between waterings and reduces soil erosion from wind and heavy rain.
As the material breaks down, it contributes organic matter, including naturally occurring nitrogen. Some growers also find the coarse texture discourages slugs.
The sheets can be cut to size for use in beds, around containers, or wrapped around tender trunks for seasonal insulation.
