Turned in a small workshop in Honduras, this set of string-line markers is crafted by artisans employed by Fundación Madera Verde, an independent organization that promotes responsible forest management while providing steady work in the local community.

Used with twine, these markers establish a straight reference line for accurate layout of garden beds, paths, edging and planting areas. Working to a taut line helps prevent the subtle drift that can occur when layouts are done by eye.

Designed by Lee Valley, the markers are made from selectively harvested hardwood tree species that have been largely overlooked by conventional forestry operations. As a result, our stock is mixed, and individual pieces will vary in weight and appearance.

Though these woods are dense and often have challenging grain patterns, each marker is carefully finished, with clean surfaces and no visible tear-out, reflecting the skill of the artists who produce them.

Each marker measures 13" long. As with many handmade products, dimensions may vary slightly.

If you need it, we also offer jute and sisal garden twine in various lengths.
