A reliable, reusable system for starting seeds and cuttings, this set gives young plants the depth and structure they need to develop strong roots that are ready for transplanting. It includes seven four-cell deep-root strips (28 cells total), a sturdy base tray, a clear, ventilated plastic dome and instructions.
The four-cell strips split apart easily, allowing you to check root growth or remove individual plants for transplanting without disturbing neighboring seedlings. Roots are automatically air-pruned to encourage a dense root mass, while grooved sidewalls guide roots straight down to minimize spiralling. Seedlings slide out smoothly, avoiding damage to the root system and reducing transplant shock.
Each cell measures 4 3/4" deep by 1 1/2" square. The strips are designed to stand on their own or fit into the 14 3/4" × 9 1/4" × 4 7/8" deep tray. The clear dome lid helps regulate airflow and humidity for consistent growing conditions.
