Outdoor Broom

(0 Reviews)
  • Handmade Palm-Leaf Bristles: Coconut palm leaf ribs form closely spaced bristles that gather pine needles, dirt and grass clippings.
  • Wide, Flat Head: The flat broom head fits into cracks and corners to scoop out debris that a round-headed broom would miss.
  • Damp-Weather Durable: Bristles hold their shape in wet conditions instead of softening, so the broom keeps working on damp leaves and patios.
  • Gentle on Grass: Sweeps lawn debris without tearing up grass, striking a middle ground between a soft broom and a metal rake.

More aggressive than a regular broom but gentler than a metal rake, this is a traditional Sri Lankan ekel (palm leaf) broom for outdoor clean-up. The wide, flat shape of the broom head fits into cracks and corners to scoop out dirt, and the closely spaced bristles will even collect pine needles.

It can also be used to sweep debris from a lawn (the bristles won't damage the grass) or collect wet leaves on a deck or patio. Made from the ribs of coconut palm leaves, the bristles are hard wearing and won't soften if used in damp conditions.

About 56" long overall, with a poplar handle and coir binding. Hand made in Sri Lanka.
