This is not your typical protective eyewear. In fact, it is widely used in Asia as face protection for cyclists and scooter riders. It cups the entire face, tucks under your chin and is secured by a 1" wide elastic headband. Peripheral vision through the polycarbonate visor is excellent, as is protection on all sides. While not airtight, it still closely conforms to most faces (that we could try, anyway!). You can even wear most prescription glasses comfortably while wearing the shield. It’s designed to be practical and inexpensive.
It excels at keeping falling dust and chips away from the face (eyes, nose and mouth) when working overhead, or from debris thrown by tools such as string trimmers. A large baffle immediately below the wearer’s mouth makes for easy air exchange without fogging. It’s a great complement to protective eyewear you may already own and deserves your consideration. An excellent buy.
The mask has been tested to meet or exceed multiple European standards for safety eyewear, namely EN 166 – Personal eyewear durability and resistance to heat/corrosion, etc., EN 167 – Optical properties – field of vision, light transmission, etc., and EN 168 – Non-Optical Properties – impact resistance, resistance to UV radiation (aging), etc.
