These headphones have a passive noise-reduction rating of 22 dB, supplemented by a built-in microphone that uses active noise-cancelling (ANC) circuitry to pick up only lower-volume sounds, while selectively filtering out those over 82 dB.
Normal speech and other harmless ambient sounds are relayed through an internal volume-adjustable speaker, so you can have a conversation without anyone having to shout, yet the noise of power tools and other potentially damaging sounds are effectively suppressed.
They connect wirelessly to a smartphone through Bluetooth so you can listen to music or other audio, with easily accessible control buttons that even let you take a call without having to reach for your phone. It has an adjustable padded headband and thick, soft ear pads to seal comfortably over your ears.
