Description

In this collection of personal essays, author and cabinetmaker Nancy Hiller narrates her journey through life-changing events, relationships and the business of cabinetmaking, interweaving engaging stories of animals that have touched her life along the way.

Amidst her accounts of personal challenges, successes and lessons learned, she reflects on the creatures she has known - her own animal companions and those of family and friends, as well as animals she has aided, including injured wildlife. Hiller’s lively anecdotes about these animals and their behavior are variously entertaining and insightful and often poignant.

Supplemented with color photos that include images of Hiller’s cabinetry, the book is a heartfelt expression of the author’s experiences and her compassion for the lives of animals.
