In this video, Schwarz takes the viewer through every step as he builds the fixed-shelf bookcase described in The Anarchist's Design Book.
The project is a straightforward example of boarded construction, using commercially available lumber and common hand tools. Adding detailed commentary throughout, Schwarz demonstrates a number of techniques, from surfacing boards with a hand plane to tongue-and-groove joinery.
He also explains how to choose nails and glue for the project and gives tips on using milk paint. A basic project for anyone who wants to build a solid, functional bookcase in a relatively short time (or simply wishes to see Schwarz at work).
